Senior Quality Engineer

Role overview We are hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to shape how quality is embedded across a modern, AI-powered platform for digital businesses. This is a collaborative, hands-on role that partners with multiple product squads spanning engineering, product, and design, combining strong product judgement with exploratory testing, automation, and technical investigation. The position suits someone who enjoys moving between problem spaces and making quality engineering visible across an organisation.

Responsibilities - Partner with several product teams across different product areas, embedding quality thinking throughout the development lifecycle. - Join product, design, and engineering discussions early to surface meaningful product, technical, and customer risks. - Bring a quality perspective to user journeys, UI/UX, requirements, and technical approaches, and shape pragmatic, risk-based testing strategies. - Build and maintain reliable automated coverage across web applications, APIs, and integrations, making thoughtful decisions about scope and approach. - Lead performance, load, and scalability testing efforts, and contribute to observability and production monitoring practices. - Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines, build infrastructure, and engineering productivity tooling to enable scalable quality practices.

Requirements - Significant experience as a Quality Engineer within modern, product-focused engineering teams. - Strong web test automation background using Playwright, TypeScript, or comparable technologies. - Solid knowledge of API and integration testing, and confidence reading application code to debug complex issues. - Strong exploratory and risk-based testing skills with sound product judgement. - Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, switching context quickly and identifying where quality input adds the most value. - A collaborative, pragmatic approach to balancing quality, risk, and delivery, with confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.

Nice to have - Experience or strong interest in building quality platforms, test infrastructure, automation frameworks, or developer tooling that solve quality problems at scale. - Mobile testing experience, particularly with React Native, iOS, or Android. - Background in payments or other integration-heavy products. - Familiarity with observability, production monitoring, performance and load testing, and CI/CD build infrastructure.
