Cloud Senior Engineer

Role overview A senior cloud engineer position on a Managed Service Provider team focused on delivering AWS solutions for a diverse customer base. The role partners with architects and delivery managers to build scalable, automated, and observable cloud infrastructure while contributing to internal intellectual property and community thought leadership. It is a fully remote position with the potential for occasional travel and rotating shifts depending on project or client demands.

Responsibilities - Evaluate libraries, tools, and services for fit, then own implementation of advanced cloud work for clients - Design and build scalable AWS architectures emphasizing reliability, security, and cost efficiency - Implement and maintain observability solutions using AWS native tooling such as CloudWatch, X-Ray, and Config, alongside partner tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry - Author runbooks and automation triggered by monitoring conditions, partnering with CloudOps teams to reduce noise and address root causes - Mentor teammates, define stories and tasks for engineers of varying experience, and contribute to internal IP and open-source initiatives - Engage directly with clients through presentations, technical decision-making, and education opportunities

Requirements - AWS certifications such as Cloud Architect Associate, SysOps Associate, Developer Associate, DevOps Professional, Solutions Architect Professional, or an AWS Specialty - Intermediate experience building scalable, automated infrastructure - Intermediate experience with AWS Lambda and serverless systems - Intermediate experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments and in a consultative, client-facing consulting role - Strong familiarity with cloud-native patterns and serverless architectures - Effective verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have - Experience publishing blog posts, speaking at community events, or contributing to partner certification work
