Senior Software Engineer | Platform Engineering

Role overview A Platform Engineering team builds and maintains the internal tooling that lets product engineering groups ship code reliably without becoming infrastructure experts. The mission is to provide paved roads: CI/CD pipelines that work out of the box, default observability, and golden paths that replace reinvented wheels. Because the platform serves every engineering team, it must be fast, correct, and dependable at scale.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate the CI/CD pipelines through which every engineering team ships services. - Develop and maintain observability and monitoring tooling so other teams can debug their own production systems. - Build local development environment tooling that mirrors production-like conditions on a laptop. - Identify infrastructure friction across the engineering organization and address it at the root rather than with workarounds. - Debug complex issues spanning CI/CD, observability, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. - Contribute to the platform roadmap and backlog, helping shape what gets built next for the engineers who depend on it.

Requirements - Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to design clean abstractions, justify architecture choices, and write maintainable code. - Production experience with Go (strongly preferred); strong systems programming skills in a comparable language are acceptable. - Hands-on platform engineering experience covering several of: CI/CD and GitOps systems, infrastructure as code (Terraform), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm), observability tooling (e.g., VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Loki, Tempo), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows. - Demonstrated ownership of a complex project from start to finish. - Strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills. - Solid written and verbal English communication and a startup mindset comfortable with ambiguity. - Willingness to participate in on-call rotation when required.

Nice to have - Kubernetes operators, Helm chart authoring, and admission webhooks. - Internal developer platform design, including golden paths, self-service tooling, and service catalogs. - Local development environment tooling such as devcontainers, Tilt, or Skaffold. - Contributions to Kubernetes or cloud-native open source projects.
