Role overview
A remote B2B contract opportunity for software engineers contributing to credit card and payment products relied on by small businesses across the UK and US. The team sits inside a profitable fintech focused on serving small business owners who have historically been overlooked by traditional banks. Engineers partner with product managers, QA, and fellow developers to own problems end to end, from the first line of code through production, monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable services using .NET and C# across the full software development lifecycle - Develop responsive, polished user interfaces with React and modern JavaScript so products work well and feel good to use - Collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, and peers to make sure technical decisions line up with customer needs - Write and maintain thorough unit and integration tests to safeguard quality over time - Troubleshoot, debug, and iterate on production issues as they arise - Translate technical work into clear business outcomes for cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server; JavaScript and React experience strongly preferred - Solid grounding in unit and integration testing practices - Familiarity with relational databases and broader data technologies - Experience working in Agile development environments - Proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and share new skills - Comfort owning problems end to end rather than executing pre-defined tickets
Nice to have
- Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL data stores - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP - Mobile development experience with Flutter or Dart
