Software Engineer Intern- Helios

Role overview A 12-week Software Engineer Internship on the Helios team within a cloud-native database company that unifies transactions and analytics on a distributed SQL engine. Interns own projects end-to-end, ship continuously to production, and pair with engineers who mentor both technical and cross-functional growth alongside product, marketing, and sales exposure. The role is designed to accelerate early-career engineers through real production impact in a fast-moving release environment.

Responsibilities - Contribute to a small, collaborative engineering team working on the Helios product area within a cloud-native distributed SQL database. - Own assigned projects end-to-end across the full software lifecycle, from design through deployment. - Develop features and test code in a continuous-release environment, with work deployed into production throughout the internship. - Build cross-functional understanding by partnering with engineers who also collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams. - Demonstrate reliability and craftsmanship in code contributed to a data-intensive, real-time platform.

Requirements - Currently enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. - Deep understanding of core computer science fundamentals. - Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Golang, or TypeScript. - Firm grasp of algorithms and data structures. - Passion for building highly reliable software.

Nice to have - Coursework or project experience in operating systems, distributed systems, concurrency, multithreading, and server architectures.
