Lead Cyber Security Engineer

Role overview A senior-level security engineering role within a regulated financial institution, focused on safeguarding information systems and digital assets. The position addresses new technical and operational demands driven by AI-accelerated threats, expanded cloud adoption, and emerging regulatory expectations, while embedding security-by-design across infrastructure, applications, and business processes.

Responsibilities - Lead vulnerability identification and assessment across systems, applications, and networks, partnering with IT teams to prioritize and drive timely remediation. - Design, implement, and maintain identity and access management (IAM) procedures to manage user identities and access rights securely and efficiently. - Monitor security events, network traffic, and logs (including via a centralized XDR platform) to detect, analyze, and respond to threats, anomalies, and breaches. - Lead incident response investigations for malware infections, unauthorized access attempts, and other events, coordinating mitigation and preventive actions. - Oversee security aspects of technical and non-technical initiatives, develop disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, and integrate security controls into business processes. - Run employee awareness training, participate in periodic IT/IS audits, and continuously track emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - At least five years in information security or a closely related role, ideally in a regulated financial institution, with practical exposure to AI in a security context. - Relevant certification such as CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent), plus demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, network protocol analysis, firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption, VPN, and core security tools. - Hands-on experience with security monitoring, vulnerability management, and security event response. - Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks, standards, and regulations, plus working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Centers. - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, sound judgment under pressure, and effective communication skills to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Nice to have - Knowledge of standards such as PCI-DSS and broader information security management frameworks. - Ability to operate independently and across external stakeholder groups in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
