About this role
Role overview An enterprise application architecture role inside a regulated bank, responsible for shaping application design across core banking, lending, deposit origination, credit card, mortgage, integration, data, and Azure cloud platforms. The position partners with business, technology, risk, compliance, security, and vendor teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, well-integrated, and aligned with strategic goals.
Responsibilities - Define and maintain application architecture standards, patterns, and roadmaps across the bank's application portfolio. - Lead solution architecture for the commercial banking platform, spanning SaaS applications such as a Fiserv core banking system, Abrigo loan origination, MANTL deposit origination, a Q2-based digital banking experience, a Snowflake data layer, and Salesforce, while supporting smaller credit card, home loan, and GGL loan processing platforms. - Design secure, scalable, and supportable solutions that meet business, operational, compliance, and risk requirements, and guide Azure cloud architecture decisions around identity, security, monitoring, integration, resiliency, and cost. - Produce architecture diagrams, integration flows, technical designs, and solution recommendations, and evaluate vendor platforms, technical proposals, and third-party solutions for architectural fit and long-term supportability. - Promote reusable patterns, disciplined change management, technical debt reduction, and strong documentation across Agile delivery, release management, monitoring, alerting, and production support processes.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. - Seven or more years in application architecture, solution architecture, enterprise applications, or systems integration, with at least three years in banking, financial services, or fintech. - Experience designing integrations across vendor platforms, core systems, digital banking, data platforms, and cloud services, plus hands-on Microsoft Azure architecture work spanning secure design, identity, monitoring, resiliency, networking, and cost-aware cloud patterns. - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business, executive, compliance, and technical audiences.
Nice to have - Direct experience with Fiserv core banking, Abrigo, MANTL, mortgage, credit card, Salesforce, digital banking, or payments platforms. - Familiarity with API-led connectivity, cloud-native design, DevSecOps, CI/CD practices, or architecture frameworks, and an Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (or equivalent).
