Job details
About this role
Role overview A Growth Product Manager role for the direct-to-consumer side of a mental wellness product, accountable for subscriber growth, activation, revenue per user, and long-term retention across mobile and web. The position owns the growth roadmap end-to-end and runs a high-velocity experimentation program in close partnership with engineering, design, marketing, data science, and research. The underlying mission is to make it effortless for a first-time user to become a daily, repeat practitioner of the product's content.
Responsibilities - Develop and own the growth product strategy and roadmap, translating revenue, subscriber, and DAU goals into a prioritized set of bets across activation, conversion, and retention. - Form sharp hypotheses, design and ship A/B tests with engineering and data science, and read results honestly, including experiments that do not win. - Use quantitative and qualitative data to find drop-off points in onboarding, habit-building, and account flows, then test simpler paths through them. - Ship habit-forming mechanics such as planning, progress tracking, streaks, reminders, and celebration so an initial session becomes a daily practice. - Write PRDs that spell out the job to be done, the opportunity, success metrics, and the shipping and iteration plan, and keep cross-functional partners aligned as the plan evolves.
Requirements - Four or more years in consumer product management, or equivalent, with a track record of owning a growth metric such as subscriber growth, conversion, or retention across iOS, Android, and web. - Fluency in the economics of consumer subscription products, including trial conversion, paywall conversion, lifetime value, and churn. - Demonstrated skill in fast experiment design and analysis, including A/B tests, holdouts, and sequential testing, with the statistical judgment to separate real signals from noise. - Data fluency across quantitative and qualitative sources for both prioritization and feature-level decisions, including decisiveness when the data will not settle it. - Familiarity with the mechanics that drive repeat daily usage, such as streaks, reminders, progress, and celebration. - High proficiency with AI tools used to drive team velocity, paired with sound judgment about output quality. - Comfort discussing complexity and tradeoffs with engineers, with the ability to prototype ideas rather than wait in a queue. - Strong documentation and organizational habits.
Nice to have - Background working on habit formation, consumer subscriptions, or mindfulness and mental wellness products.
Benefits and work setup - Base pay range of 147,800 to 226,700, set by a geographic pay model based on the employee's zip code; not all candidates will fall at the top of the range. - Eligibility for equity, comprehensive benefits, 401k, and flexible time off. - Reasonable accommodations available for qualified candidates with disabilities. - Equal opportunity employer with a stated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. - Employment contingent on successful completion of a background check, and potentially a drug screening for roles handling certain types of information. - Application review may involve artificial intelligence tools, with human reviewers participating in all stages of hiring.
