About this role

Role overview

A medical device company developing non-invasive prescription therapies for chronic conditions is hiring a UI/UX Designer to own the digital experience across its web and mobile platforms. The role spans the full design lifecycle, from early flows and wireframes through high-fidelity UI, interaction, and motion work, with a focus on accessibility, data visualization, and a design system that scales to connected devices. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering in a regulated environment that emphasizes documentation rigor and human factors standards.

Responsibilities

- Drive end-to-end design for web and native iOS/Android experiences, producing flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and motion designs that consistently meet WCAG accessibility requirements. - Design dashboards, flows, and data displays that translate complex clinical and usage data into insights for patients, clinicians, and internal stakeholders. - Build and evolve the visual and interaction design language and its supporting design system, including component library, design tokens, and versioning, ensuring it maps cleanly to front-end implementation. - Collaborate with Product Management on customer research, interviews, and usability testing for both early-stage discovery and post-design validation. - Author and maintain UI/UX documentation, redlines, and specifications with tight version control, leading cross-functional design reviews from concept through shipped implementation. - Partner with product and engineering to design multimodal UI moments, including notification and feedback patterns across connected and wearable devices.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Three or more years of digital UI/UX or product design experience with shipped web and mobile products, including healthcare platforms operating under HIPAA and Protected Health Information constraints. - Solid grasp of native mobile design standards such as Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design. - Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility principles and inclusive design, demonstrated through hands-on, accessibility-driven interface work. - Proficiency in Figma across components, auto layout, variables and modes, Dev Mode, prototyping, and documentation. - Familiarity with medical device usability engineering standards (e.g., IEC 62366, FDA Human Factors guidance) and comfort working with the documentation rigor a regulated environment requires, along with Agile/Scrum collaboration with Product, Engineering, and QA.

Nice to have

- Designing for wearable or embedded device displays. - Participating in formative and summative usability testing for FDA submissions or CE marking. - Working on AI/ML-enabled or adaptive software in FDA-regulated products. - Building interactive prototypes in code or using AI-assisted prototyping tools.

Benefits and work setup

- Full-time, exempt position with reports-to line into software engineering management. - Remote candidates accepted nationwide, with a hybrid option of roughly three days onsite per week for local candidates. - Published compensation range of $120,000–$140,000, with final figures based on experience, skills, market benchmarks, internal equity, and candidate location. - Sponsorship considered on a case-by-case basis; candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States or eligible through a supported sponsorship path. - Standard selection process driven by role requirements; AI tools are not permitted during interviews and technical testing so human judgment and skill can be fairly evaluated.
