Role overview
A remote summer internship on a software development team that designs, builds, and maintains applications supporting business operations and user experience improvements. Interns contribute to feature delivery, debugging, testing, and documentation while learning modern development practices alongside experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
- Develop, create, and modify general-purpose or specialized utility applications of low to moderate complexity. - Analyze user needs and translate them into software solutions that improve operational efficiency. - Build, enhance, support, and maintain existing applications and new features. - Debug identified defects and propose workable solutions. - Write testable, efficient code following established software development best practices. - Support system testing and validation procedures and contribute to technical documentation. - Collaborate with team members to clarify design specifications and implementation details. - Stay current on emerging technologies and evolving development practices.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, software development, or a related field. - Junior standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. - Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. - Experience with one or more programming languages. - Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. - Proficiency with object-oriented programming concepts. - Solid understanding of the software development life cycle. - Experience working with relational databases. - Comfort writing clear, concise technical documentation and using Microsoft Office applications. - Self-motivated with a willingness to learn. - Must be available 40 hours per week during 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time for the full nine-week program. - Must reside in the United States and perform all work there. - Sponsorship is not available.
