Role overview
This role engineers, integrates, and supports Windows-based infrastructure and custom applications that underpin a federal SAP security program for a Department of Defense agency. The engineer serves as a technical liaison between security, enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application development teams, designing resilient solutions and ensuring compliance with DoD and agency standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments that host security-related applications and coordinate provisioning with infrastructure teams. - Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-hosted custom applications, including IIS, Windows services, scheduled tasks, and authentication flows. - Support Active Directory integrations, Microsoft Entra ID synchronization, identity federation, certificate management, and PKI components. - Develop PowerShell scripts and automation that streamline monitoring, reporting, deployments, and repetitive administrative work. - Coordinate incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions across Windows, application development, cybersecurity, and SAP basis teams. - Support STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, audit preparation, and Authority to Operate activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field with 3-5 years supporting Windows Server, or 5-7 years of equivalent experience without a degree. - Experience supporting Windows-hosted enterprise applications and integrating them with identity management solutions. - Working knowledge of IIS, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting. - Ability to obtain and maintain an active government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Nice to have
- Prior experience supporting DoD or federal IT environments. - Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework or other cybersecurity compliance programs.
