Role overview This remote Staff or Senior Accountant role supports a growing finance function by maintaining accurate records, producing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The position reports to the Controller and contributes to budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements that inform strategic decisions. Responsibilities - Manage core accounting workflows including account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing - Review company expenditures to confirm correct allocation across departments and report findings to budget owners - Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and internal policies, including proper revenue recognition treatment - Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals and review general ledger accounts for accuracy - Assist with preparation of financial statements, budget variance analysis, and management budgets - Prepare year-end schedules supporting annual tax returns and identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred - 3-5 years of accounting or auditing experience for Staff level, or 5-8 years for Senior level; public accounting background preferred - Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Intacct, or Quickbooks - Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently

Nice to have - Experience training or mentoring junior staff - Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives within a finance function
