About this role

Role overview An affirmative-action opening for a senior data scientist, reserved for cis and trans women, that combines machine learning engineering with technical leadership and people mentoring. The role spans the full data science lifecycle within a remote-first, international team that works in fluent English.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end machine learning models, spanning data acquisition, feature engineering, and production monitoring. - Work alongside analysts, product managers, and engineering teams to frame business problems as data science problems and ensure the work delivers measurable value. - Build and refine complex features from large datasets to improve model accuracy and business outcomes. - Define dataset requirements that uphold data quality and integrity for analytics and modeling. - Monitor and troubleshoot live models, addressing concept drift, quality degradation, and performance issues. - Provide technical leadership in statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics across the team. - Mentor and coach junior data scientists and analysts through code reviews, design sessions, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements - Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field. - Strong Python for data science (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PySpark). - Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure, or Databricks) and familiarity with warehousing solutions like PostgreSQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, or Snowflake. - Practical experience applying supervised models (e.g., XGBoost, logistic regression) and unsupervised approaches such as clustering. - Working knowledge of MLOps tooling (Databricks, MLflow, SageMaker, or Vertex AI) plus Git-based version control on GitHub, Azure DevOps, or GitLab. - Strong communication, mentoring capability, problem-solving skills, curiosity, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial mindset, with fluent English for an international setting.

Nice to have - Experience with a deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras.
