About this role
Role overview A fully remote accounting opportunity sits within a finance team supporting a growing technology organization. The position reports to the Controller and centers on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and driving continuous process improvements across the accounting function. Work spans the full close cycle, from reconciliations and journal entries through financial statement preparation and tax schedule support.
Responsibilities - Own day-to-day accounting operations including account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing - Review transactions for proper GAAP treatment and apply revenue recognition policies to billing activity - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals and analyze expense allocations across departments - Contribute to the build of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and budget variance analyses - Support the design and preparation of annual budgets and year-end schedules for tax returns - Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accounting workflows
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred - 3-5 years of accounting or auditing experience for the Staff level, or 5-8 years for the Senior level - Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail - Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have - Public accounting background - Hands-on experience with cloud accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks
