Role overview
A remote position on the finance team focused on keeping financial records accurate, producing reliable reports, and supporting analysis, budgeting, and compliance. The role contributes to month- and year-end close, audit preparation, tax schedules, and ongoing improvements to accounting workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee core accounting activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing - Review company expenditures to confirm correct allocation across departments and report variances as needed - Verify that transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies - Analyze billing transactions to ensure revenue recognition policies are applied correctly - Maintain the general ledger and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals - Assist with building financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement, and prepare budget variance analyses - Help design and assemble budgets for management review - Prepare year-end schedules that support the annual tax filing process - Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and controls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred - 3–5 years of accounting or audit experience at the Staff level, or 5–8 years at the Senior level, with public accounting experience preferred - Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition - Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and comfort meeting tight deadlines - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Experience with cloud or mid-market accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks
