Staff Data Scientist

Role overview A staff-level individual contributor role standing up a brand-new Product Intelligence function for a fast-growing SaaS platform serving appointment-based self-care businesses. The position blends data engineering, analytics, and data science, partnering deeply with Product to shape how the organization measures, understands, and improves customer behavior. The role is explicitly designed for someone energized by ambiguity, who will define the questions, build the infrastructure, and set the standards from day one.

Responsibilities - Build the product data foundation with the Product Development organization, designing what is tracked and how, and partnering with data engineering to ship clean, reliable, analysis-ready data models - Deliver data-driven recommendations through compelling narratives, data storytelling, and visualizations tailored from individual contributors to executive leadership - Build scalable, intuitive self-serve dashboards, operationalize product analytics, and connect metrics to OKRs and business outcomes - Lead deep-dive exploratory analyses such as funnel, retention, cohort, and feature-adoption studies, proactively surfacing insights that shape product direction - Bridge product data and the rest of the organization, ensuring insights influence cross-functional decisions and documenting practices that make the function scalable

Requirements - Deep, broad experience spanning three disciplines: building and maintaining the analytics tech stack, product data analysis supporting decisions, and applied data science such as experiment design and modeling - Proven ability to define ambiguous questions, build the infrastructure to answer them, and set standards that scale - Strong cross-functional partnership skills, with experience turning analysis into narratives that influence executives and product strategy - Demonstrated ability to build self-serve analytics products and operationalize metrics tied to business outcomes
