Sr. Data Scientist, Business Analytics

Role overview

The Business Analytics team functions as a strategic partner that owns the metrics, dashboards, and analytical infrastructure guiding marketplace decisions. In this senior role, the focus is on driving insight across conversion and monetization, working shoulder-to-shoulder with executive leadership to shape company strategy and translate analysis into action. It is a high-visibility position for an analyst who wants their work to influence what the organization does next.

Responsibilities

- Define, monitor, and report on the key performance metrics that gauge overall marketplace success - Lead business performance analyses that surface emerging risks and opportunities for senior leadership - Conduct deep-dive investigations into the strategic questions most critical to long-term growth - Support and refine the revenue forecasting model and broader planning cycle - Build and maintain dashboards plus self-serve analytics tools relied on by teams across the company - Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and the leadership group to convert findings into decisions - Strengthen the data culture through peer review, training, and coaching

Requirements

- 6+ years of experience in a highly analytical role, ideally within a technology or marketplace business - Strong proficiency with SQL and Python or R for analyzing large data sets - Solid statistics foundation, sound business judgment, and comfort working through ambiguity - Demonstrated track record partnering with executives to understand needs and influence decisions - Excellent communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences - Hands-on experience using AI to automate workflows and enable self-serve analytics - Background in revenue modeling and forecasting, ideally within a high-growth or public-company setting

- Prior analytics experience at a two-sided marketplace or platform business
