About this role
Role overview This position focuses on connecting intelligent digital agents to physical robotic hardware, translating software reasoning into real-world action. The engineer will define the architecture, perception pipelines, and control interfaces that allow agents to operate safely and effectively in hospitality and retail environments.
Responsibilities - Architect software layers that allow AI agents to interface with a variety of robotic hardware platforms - Build simulation environments that exercise agent behavior before any physical deployment - Partner with AI researchers to embed language-model reasoning into physical-world decision making - Evaluate and prototype commercial robotics platforms for hospitality and retail scenarios - Develop perception and sensor pipelines that translate raw signals into usable agent state
Requirements - Three or more years of professional robotics software development experience - Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python applied to robotics problems - Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2 and related robotic middleware - Solid grounding in kinematics, dynamics, and classical control theory - Practical experience with computer vision and sensor processing pipelines - Comfort working on greenfield efforts where requirements and design evolve
Nice to have - Familiarity with simulation suites such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo - Background in human-robot interaction or social robotics research - Experience using large language models for task planning in physical systems - Prior work with commercial robot platforms from established vendors
