Role overview A senior engineering position focused on leading the technical direction of a portfolio of roughly ten custom-built federal applications spanning about 150 user interfaces and over 170,000 lines of C#. The role blends hands-on cloud development with modernization leadership, driving SSRS-to-Power BI and WebForms-to-ASP.NET Core transitions within an established federal framework while keeping systems compliant and stable.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and sustain backend services and application layers using Microsoft .NET Core and Azure cloud technologies - Lead the modernization of legacy SSRS reporting into Power BI and the migration of WebForms applications into ASP.NET Core within the VAEC framework - Architect and maintain scalable, secure Azure infrastructure spanning Databricks, Synapse, API Management, Functions, App Services, Blob Storage, and Monitor - Maintain complex SQL Server databases with advanced T-SQL, including data dictionaries, metadata, and report-to-source traceability - Ensure applications remain secure and compliant within an active umbrella Authorization to Operate rated FIPS 199 Moderate, including ATO artifact maintenance and vulnerability remediation - Provide technical leadership and code review to junior developers, and drive enterprise data management practices toward a high CMMI operating maturity
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (no equivalencies accepted) - 8+ years of professional software development experience - Significant hands-on experience with Azure cloud services including Databricks, Synapse, API Management, Functions, App Services, Blob Storage, and Monitor - Working knowledge of ASP.NET Core, C#, T-SQL, Power BI, and Kendo UI - Demonstrated track record leading software development initiatives and providing technical oversight - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance
