The position blends hands-on technical leadership with cross-team architectural influence, particularly as the platform scales into peak sporting events. AI tooling is treated as a first-class part of delivery, applied to analysis, monitoring, drafting, and review work.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve architectural solutions targeting performance, scalability, reliability, and day-to-day operability - Own the technical roadmap for the exchange and produce the architecture and design for every major initiative - Maintain shared foundations: core patterns, system boundaries, and data contracts documented clearly enough for both engineers and AI tooling - Partner with product, infrastructure, platform, and external partner engineering teams, including brokers, market makers, and clearing partners - Set performance and reliability targets, then lead load and resilience testing before peak events - Bring architectural expertise to incidents and translate lessons into fixes that prevent recurrence - Build and own AI tooling for the domain, including agents and automated workflows, with results measured by faster delivery and fewer defects - Mentor engineers on architecture and on working effectively with AI tools
