Remote job
Radar Perception Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and improve radar perception for autonomous off-road machinery, combining radar data with camera-based perception to support reliable operation in agricultural environments. The work spans sensor and hardware integration, algorithm development, production software, and field validation, with a focus on real-time performance and safety.
Responsibilities - Develop production-quality C++ software for radar perception and robotics pipelines, using maintainable engineering practices. - Design radar data and sensor-fusion pipelines, and integrate them into a broader autonomy perception system. - Create and refine point-cloud processing, object tracking, classification, and identification methods. - Develop odometry solutions and integration points for inertial navigation data. - Plan and run field verification, regression testing, and performance analysis; investigate safety-related edge cases. - Profile CPU, memory, and latency constraints, optimize deployed systems, and document architectures and test results.
Requirements - A bachelor’s or master’s degree in robotics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. - At least three years of professional experience developing perception systems, particularly involving radar, robotics, or embedded systems. - Strong C++ and Python skills, including the ability to deliver production-quality embedded software. - Experience optimizing perception algorithms for real-time use on resource-constrained hardware. - Ability to work across hardware, perception, and autonomy teams.
Nice to have - Experience with autonomous vehicles, agricultural or construction machinery, or other off-highway robotics. - Radar and camera fusion experience, including calibration, time synchronization, and multi-sensor integration. - Familiarity with safety-critical perception, edge-case analysis, and robustness testing in challenging conditions.
Benefits and work setup - Remote within the United States; full-time position. - Visa sponsorship is available. - Compensation includes a stated annual base-pay range of $131,000–$228,000, an annual performance bonus, and benefits. Pay depends on qualifications, experience, education, location, and skills.
