Analytics Engineer Contractor

Role overview Support a lean data team during a six-month coverage period as a contract Analytics Engineer. You will keep recurring data operations running and maintain existing Looker/LookML infrastructure while the Director of Data is on leave. The role blends hands-on dashboard development with vendor coordination and planning support across a DTC, eCommerce, or CPG environment.

Responsibilities - Build, update, and maintain dashboards and reporting in Looker, developing LookML across new and existing explores. - Support the Senior Analytics Engineer with ad hoc analyses and forecasting work. - Clean up and maintain the LookML codebase in GitHub. - Manage the sales pacing methodology, ensuring recurring manual inputs and refreshes stay current across channels. - Handle day-to-day Data QA/UAT with the managed service data vendor. - Provide support for board data requests and recurring reporting sends to external partners. - Manage the external vendor bi-weekly agenda and monitor workflow health. - Draft materials for quarterly planning and OKR preparation.

Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. - 5+ years in analytics, ideally within DTC, eCommerce, or CPG. - Hands-on LookML and Looker development experience (explores, views, derived tables). - Strong SQL and comfort working in Snowflake and Looker. - Experience managing external data vendors and troubleshooting data discrepancies. - Comfort working in Git/GitHub for version control. - Strong documentation skills, able to produce clear reference and handoff materials. - Able to work independently with light oversight and navigate ambiguity in a lean data team. - Available 40 hours per week from December 2026 through May 2027.

Nice to have - Working knowledge of Python and Hex or a similar notebook tool. - Experience with statistics and forecasting or modeling techniques. - Familiarity with Notion and AI tools such as Claude.

Benefits and work setup - Hourly rate of $150–175. - Contractor engagement covering December 2026 through May 2027.
