Director of Product & Delivery Management

Role overview Lead a Product and Delivery practice inside a public-interest technology consultancy that partners with government agencies. The role blends practice leadership, senior advisory work with public-sector clients, and field-building to strengthen how government teams run product work. It is a remote, director-level position focused on building durable client capability rather than perpetual hands-on delivery.

Responsibilities - Serve as a senior advisor to government leaders on standing up product roles, teams, and operating rhythms, embedding practices that persist after the engagement ends - Manage a team of roughly 7 to 10 product and delivery managers through coaching, regular 1:1s, hiring, and stepping in on difficult team dynamics - Define and maintain the standards, rituals, and knowledge-management approaches that allow distributed teams to deliver consistently without constant oversight - Contribute to business development by scoping new work, estimating effort, shaping proposals, and representing the practice in government procurement discussions - Build the practice's external presence through writing, speaking, and partnerships that elevate product craft across the civic technology ecosystem - Partner with other directors on hiring, staffing, culture, and strategic decisions at the leadership table

Requirements - At least 10 years of product and delivery experience, including leading teams inside a consulting-like environment - Demonstrated track record of building client capacity, advising senior leaders, and helping government teams grow their own product capability - Experience leading and maturing a practice, including developing senior practitioners toward broader scope - Fluency in agile, iterative, user-centered delivery and comfort operating in a fully remote, distributed team - Experience with business development and government procurement, including scoping work and shaping proposals - Familiarity with the public-interest technology landscape and the realities of digital service delivery in government

Nice to have - History of representing product approaches in civic tech through speaking, writing, or partnership-building - A thoughtful, curious stance toward emerging technology, including where AI helps and where it introduces risk for public services
