Senior Applied AI & Platform Engineer

Role overview

A senior individual contributor role dedicated to building dependable enterprise AI and data platforms that support research workflows, data processing, and evidence-backed report generation. The position pairs hands-on engineering with real ownership, turning ambitious AI workflows into shipped products from initial hypothesis through verified production behavior in environments where accuracy, security, and reliability matter.

Responsibilities

- Build and harden production services powering research, data-processing, and report-generation workflows. - Design resilient ingestion and retrieval pipelines with normalization, deduplication, provenance tracking, and clear data contracts. - Develop long-running and parallel workflows featuring explicit state management, retries, recovery paths, and meaningful observability. - Integrate models, agents, tools, APIs, enterprise data sources, and downstream applications through maintainable interfaces. - Diagnose failures spanning code, data, infrastructure, deployment, permissions, and external dependencies. - Improve CI/CD pipelines, secrets handling, monitoring, runbooks, and operational tooling. - Translate evolving stakeholder needs into scoped work with acceptance criteria, ownership, and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

- A demonstrated track record of shipping and operating production software. - Strong backend or platform engineering skills across APIs, asynchronous processing, data contracts, and failure recovery. - Professional experience with Python or a comparable production-grade language. - Fluency debugging using logs, traces, database state, artifacts, and version evidence. - Sound judgment around cloud delivery, CI/CD, secrets management, enterprise security, and incomplete requirements.

- Experience with retrieval, vector search, or agent orchestration. - Background working with financial or research-oriented datasets. - Familiarity with distributed workers and evaluation frameworks. - Hands-on work with major cloud platforms. - Exposure to automated report and document generation systems.
