Role overview A senior client support role providing subject matter expertise to account management teams handling a large State Health Benefits Program. The position focuses on strategic relationship management, billing operations, and translating State legislation into business requirements, while indirectly supporting membership growth and retention.
Responsibilities - Provide subject matter support to account management teams across underwriting, ancillary products, benefit design, and market-specific dynamics. - Act as the billing subject matter expert, ensuring accurate billing administration and timely resolution of inquiries and discrepancies. - Maintain the billing master roster and develop monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts highlighting trends, variances, risks, and opportunities. - Support plan design implementations by translating State legislation into clear business requirements. - Serve as the business lead for vendor integrations serving State members and liaise across internal support areas that impact client management. - Maintain a database of individual market stakeholders and their connections, and assist in developing the strategic business plan for retention and growth. - Train newly hired staff on the unique SHBP market.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in group health. - Experience managing work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. - Knowledge of complex billing operations. - Proficiency with personal computers and supporting software in a Windows-based environment. - Familiarity with health insurance plans, health care delivery systems, and claim operations. - Understanding of pricing and underwriting principles.
