Manager, Engineering

Role overview Lead and grow an engineering team responsible for the core systems behind a network management product used by IT teams to automate, monitor, and manage infrastructure remotely. The role combines people leadership with technical direction, partnering closely with product management to deliver reliable, scalable services such as device discovery and identification. It is a full-time remote position within a fully distributed organization.

Responsibilities

- Lead a team of engineers, fostering growth, accountability, and a healthy team culture. - Own team outcomes, delivering high-quality solutions that create customer and business value. - Partner with product management to shape priorities, make tradeoffs, and execute the roadmap. - Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders across the company. - Drive engineering excellence through best practices, CI/CD, and modern development workflows. - Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent while maintaining a high performance bar. - Ensure production reliability through incident management, change management, and strong operational practices.

Requirements

- Several years of experience leading and developing engineering teams with a track record of building high-performing groups. - Experience working with distributed teams and scaling engineering organizations. - Ability to operate with ownership and make sound decisions amid tradeoffs in a fast-moving environment. - Strong product and business sense, connecting technical work to customer outcomes. - Solid grasp of agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices, including microservices. - Experience operating production systems with a focus on reliability and scalability.
