Senior Software Engineer - Agent Team

Role overview Build and operate software that helps organizations manage endpoint configuration, security, and patching across Windows, macOS, and Linux. This senior engineering role owns substantial features end to end, including backend services and the user interface that exposes them, with an emphasis on secure, reliable systems that communicate with a large, continuously connected fleet of devices.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, secure, release, and operate services that support communications with a global population of software agents. - Own features from technical design through production operation, including relevant frontend work. - Extend event-driven services and endpoint capabilities to deliver new product functions. - Set a strong example in secure coding and modern engineering practices; contribute specifications across the development lifecycle. - Improve quality and performance through testing, tuning, refactoring, usability work, and automation. - Work with product, program management, quality engineering, and technical support to clarify problems and deliver solutions; use data to assess production impact.

Requirements - At least 5 years designing, building, testing, and monitoring software in a highly available SaaS environment. - Strong professional experience in Go or Java, with flexibility to work across languages. - Experience building production applications in AWS and applying security practices, including familiarity with OWASP principles. - Experience delivering frontend features with TypeScript in a modern JavaScript framework, and willingness to own the UI portion of a full-stack feature. - Background with continuously connected client applications; ability to collaborate while taking ownership of complex problems. - Strong testing and quality practices, plus leadership skills for mentoring less experienced engineers.

Nice to have - Experience scaling microservices, event ingestion, WebSockets, or real-time messaging systems such as Kafka or MQTT, as well as non-relational data stores. - Experience with desktop or cross-platform software, endpoint agents, installers, or system services across major operating systems. - Automated end-to-end testing experience with tools such as Python or Playwright.

Benefits and work setup - Fully distributed remote team; hiring is unavailable in California and the New York metro area. - Base salary range is $140,000–$190,000 USD, with bonus, equity, and benefits.
