Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and operate product features across the stack for software that automates administrative work for healthcare teams. You’ll contribute to backend services and data infrastructure as well as the web application used by operations staff, with substantial ownership over implementation and engineering practices.
Responsibilities - Own features from design through production, making decisions across frontend, backend, and supporting infrastructure. - Build user-facing interfaces with React and TypeScript. - Design and deliver backend services using Python and FastAPI or a similar framework. - Work with product, design, and engineering colleagues to clarify ambiguous needs and turn them into shipped software. - Participate in code reviews and help shape engineering standards and practices. - Improve testing, deployment pipelines, and observability as the engineering organization grows.
Requirements - Five or more years of full-stack software development experience with Python and React/TypeScript. - Ability to design relational data schemas and write complex SQL queries. - Working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and production cloud systems. - Familiarity with Redis, queues, or similar components of a modern software stack. - Clear written and spoken English for asynchronous collaboration and regular meetings. - Experience taking ownership in an early-stage or otherwise ambiguous environment. - Availability for meaningful overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
Nice to have - Experience in a regulated industry and a security-conscious approach to software design. - Infrastructure-as-code experience, such as with Terraform.
Benefits and work setup The team includes hybrid staff in a U.S. city and remote engineers in the U.S. and Brazil. The role offers competitive compensation, equity, health insurance, opportunities to shape technical direction, and work on generative AI and automation in healthcare.
