About this role

Role overview

This is a senior data science role on a remote-first team that designs, builds, and operates machine-learning products at scale. The opening is part of an affirmative action initiative aimed at broadening LGBTQIAPN+ representation in technology, and the position pairs hands-on modeling work with technical leadership across an international, English-speaking environment.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end machine learning pipelines, covering data acquisition, feature engineering, training, and ongoing production monitoring - Partner with data analysts, product managers, and engineering teams to translate open business questions into well-scoped data science frameworks - Engineer features from large-scale datasets to lift model accuracy and measurable business performance - Champion data quality and integrity by defining requirements for analytics-ready datasets and resolving issues such as concept drift, degradation, and bottlenecks - Document and communicate methodologies, model findings, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences - Mentor junior data scientists through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing, while modeling a culture of scientific rigor

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field - Strong Python for data science, including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and PySpark - Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data platform such as GCP, AWS, Azure, or Databricks - Familiarity with data warehousing and databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, or Snowflake - Practical experience with supervised learning models (for example XGBoost or logistic regression) and unsupervised approaches like clustering - Working knowledge of MLOps tooling such as MLflow, SageMaker, or Vertex AI, and Git-based workflows on GitHub, Azure DevOps, or GitLab - Fluent English, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a track record of balancing delivery with mentoring

Nice to have

- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras
