Role overview
A remote graphic designer is needed to support a large-scale federal training conference and industry day program, working under an events manager and alongside a strategic communications partner. The designer owns event branding, presentation templates, signage, web assets, and multimedia while meeting strict accessibility and government review requirements. It is a fully remote contract-style role that blends print, digital, web, and video production.
Responsibilities
- Develop cohesive event branding systems including logos, color palettes, themes, and visual standards for each program cycle. - Design digital graphics, fact sheets, flyers, social assets, and speaker-ready presentation templates for leadership audiences. - Build and maintain responsive event web pages, registration flows, and mobile app assets in coordination with the communications team. - Produce walk-on videos, session openers, and awards ceremony multimedia with captions and other accessibility features. - Create directional signage, name badges, certificates, plaques, and commemorative items, supporting on-site revisions as needed. - Package editable source files, accessible PDFs, and web-ready deliverables for handoff to the designated repository.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Three or more years of professional design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates event, print, and digital work. - Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft PowerPoint. - Hands-on experience with photo and video editing tools and a working knowledge of Section 508 and accessible PDF creation. - Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation. - Strong attention to detail and comfort managing multiple revisions under tight deadlines.
