Sr. Model Based Systems Engineer - 100% Remote

Role overview

This senior role centers on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) within a digital engineering practice that supports clients across diverse technical domains. The position is fully remote and built around a performance-based culture in which engineers manage their own schedules rather than logging hours. Work spans advanced technologies in areas such as space systems, electric vehicles, tactical communications, and command and control.

Responsibilities

- Apply MBSE methods and SysML/UML modeling to engineering problems across multiple technical domains - Develop use cases, activity models, and other SysML artifacts using tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, or IBM Rhapsody - Collaborate with domain subject matter experts, peers, managers, and customers on complex system designs - Produce model-based requirements, interface definitions, and design specifications at a state-of-the-art level - Ramp up quickly on new technologies and adapt modeling approaches to unfamiliar problem spaces - Operate with minimal supervision while contributing within a highly technical, collaborative engineering team

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree with 10-12 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 8-10 years, or PhD with 5-7 years - Hands-on experience with one or more modeling platforms: NoMagic/MagicDraw, Cameo, SysML, UPDM, or IBM Rhapsody - Solid systems engineering foundation paired with strong SysML/UML modeling capability - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance - Self-starter mindset with strong interpersonal skills and confidence working alongside senior engineers
