Senior Systems Engineer (Indications & Warning)

Role overview

A senior-level systems engineering role supporting Enterprise Resiliency Indications and Warning (I&W) capabilities in a Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) capacity for major protection-related acquisitions. The position serves a national intelligence acquisition organization, delivering enterprise systems engineering and integration across complex national security space architectures. Work centers on end-to-end closure of protection baselines, strategic capability planning, and integration of space protection activities into the broader enterprise.

Responsibilities

- Create and assess requirements, Concept of Operations (CONOPs), architecture products, system schedules, and risks for end-to-end integration of space protection baselines - Lead system readiness events following approved Integration and Closure processes to achieve baseline closure - Collaborate with government enterprise engineers, acquisition offices, and contractor stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges - Support the Enterprise Program Manager with strategic planning for future capability acquisition and insertion into the enterprise baseline - Interface with directorate and office representatives across system engineering groups to drive System of Systems integration - Develop and deliver technical briefings for senior-level customer stakeholders

Requirements

- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph - 8-10 years with a BS, 6-8 years with an MS, or 3-5 years with a PhD in a STEM field - Hands-on technical experience with space-based sensors and systems - Knowledge of space, ground, and communications systems, including sensor vulnerabilities - Demonstrated technical leadership on integrated engineering teams and experience with full systems engineering functional disciplines (analysis, VV&T, and related areas) - Solid grasp of the Systems Engineering V process and how Agile methods affect traditional acquisition - Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to have

- OCSMP certification (level 1 or greater) plus experience with MBSE, SysML applications, Confluence, and Jira - Background supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense customers - Knowledge of mission planning, control, or processing functions within space and ground architectures - Understanding of adversarial threats to space and ground systems - Experience with requirements engineering, CONOPS development, verification, test, and system integration - Familiarity with requirements database management, threat scenario analysis, and VV&T strategies aligned to agile development
