Electronics Technician – Navy Electronic Systems, RF & Hardware

Role overview

Hands-on electronics technician supporting the development, integration, testing, repair, and sustainment of military electronic and electromechanical systems. The work spans prototype hardware, RF and radar-related equipment, imaging and electronic-warfare systems, laboratory testing, and engineering troubleshooting. This role suits a detail-oriented technician who is comfortable working with tools and test equipment, collaborating with engineers, and learning new processes.

Responsibilities

- Assemble, modify, integrate, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and electromechanical assemblies. - Read and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical procedures. - Perform functional tests with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and RF analyzers. - Support prototype builds, hardware verification, system integration, laboratory testing, and engineering investigations. - Carry out or assist with soldering and electronic assembly in accordance with applicable workmanship standards. - Record test results, discrepancies, configuration changes, assembly observations, and other engineering information.

Requirements

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical or vocational education. - At least one year of experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining electronic or electromechanical equipment. - Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, or comparable technical documentation. - Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and on a multidisciplinary team. - Willingness to learn unfamiliar tools, equipment, technologies, and procedures. - U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Nice to have

- Soldering and electronic assembly experience, including familiarity with IPC standards. - Background with RF systems, antennas, fiber optics, radar, imaging, electronic warfare, or other military electronics. - Experience with electronic test instruments or with prototype development, engineering laboratories, low-volume manufacturing, integration, or sustainment. - Prior Navy, submarine, shipboard, combat-system, or related military electronics experience. - Current or former U.S. Government Secret clearance.
