About this role
Role overview
Senior systems engineering specialist responsible for shaping, integrating, evaluating, and verifying complex end-to-end systems across their lifecycle. The work focuses on SIGINT-related rapid prototyping and mission capabilities, combining systems engineering, software development, operational collaboration, technical assessment, and customer support.
Responsibilities
- Derive measurable system requirements from customer needs, planning, design, and acquisition constraints, then maintain traceability through formal verification. - Translate product strategies into implementation requirements and coordinate engineering standards, interfaces, processes, and lifecycle procedures. - Evaluate system performance, participate in hardware and software design reviews, and develop verification and customer acceptance test procedures. - Prototype software capabilities, create web services and data-routing scripts, and deploy new functionality through DevOps practices. - Assess tools, algorithms, and capabilities independently; support operational test cases, collection-system tasking, and mission-operator concept design. - Work with developers and multidisciplinary teams to validate data formats, improve code, communicate technical issues, and represent customer needs.
Requirements
- Active and maintainable TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a similar technical discipline, plus 10 or more years of relevant domain experience; advanced-degree experience ranges are also cited. - Subject-matter expertise in at least one SIGINT discipline, with 10 or more years working with SIGINT data and at least 5 years coding in a mission environment. - Experience with SIGINT collection systems, constrained tasking, mission data formats, parsing and reformatting datasets, cloud environments, web services, and software frameworks. - Strong systems-engineering and systems-analysis skills, including the ability to identify issues accurately and understand operational user needs. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate or lead across geographically distributed teams and explain technical matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- 15 or more years working with SIGINT datasets and at least 5 years of coding in a mission environment.
Benefits and work setup
- The listed projected compensation range is $135,035.83–$234,801.11, subject to experience, skills, location, education, certifications, and applicable government-contract labor categories. - Potential benefits include health and life insurance, paid time off, holidays, disability coverage, retirement and savings programs, learning and development, wellness programs, and optional elections.
