Systems Engineer IV

Role overview

Lead end-to-end systems engineering for a mission-critical space and ground communications environment supporting high-consequence operations. The work spans concept development, requirements definition, architecture, acquisition support, verification, testing, deployment, and operational transition while coordinating government users, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

- Translate user needs, operational concepts, and development strategies into traceable system and subsystem requirements. - Define interfaces, assess system performance, and ensure hardware and software elements function together as an integrated capability. - Develop verification procedures, acceptance test procedures, and technical performance measures; review plans and participate in testing. - Support government customers, development and operations contractors, and users through capability configuration, training, deployment, and transition to operations. - Contribute to acquisition strategy, modernization initiatives, technology development, and concept demonstrations. - Capture baseline architecture and help transition engineering products and processes toward a digital engineering environment.

Requirements

- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and the ability to maintain it. - Approximately 5–7 years of experience with space and/or ground information-technology communications systems. - Working knowledge of RF communications theory at a mid-level. - Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of experience, master’s degree with 6–8 years, or doctorate with 3–5 years. - Ability to collaborate effectively within engineering teams and demonstrated success working with government customers.
