Cyber Systems Engineer / RMF – IA Trainer

Role overview Join a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) program that strengthens the Information Assurance posture of a national-security customer. The role centers on cybersecurity training, equipping stakeholders with the policy, process, and tool knowledge needed to operate securely across a federal mission environment.

Responsibilities - Design, adapt, and deliver Information Assurance and cybersecurity training in coordination with customers, training team members, and subject-matter experts. - Plan and facilitate training sessions end-to-end, including registration, delivery logistics, and post-session follow-up. - Refresh and expand course content as new cyber/IA tools and capabilities are fielded or as policies and processes change. - Prepare agendas, marketing materials, and content for the annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October and other quarterly awareness events. - Lead training on ServiceNow, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Continuous Monitoring, Privileged Users, Information Assurance, and Information System Owner cyber responsibilities. - Help identify new training topics and contribute to the development of associated instructional materials.

Requirements - 8–10 years of relevant experience with a BS/BA, 6–8 years with an MS/MA, or 3–5 years with a PhD. - Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and ability to maintain it. - A current DoD 8570/8140 Information Assurance certification. - Demonstrated experience training and presenting to live and virtual audiences. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication. - Self-starter who can work with limited supervision plus hands-on experience with the RMF process. - Availability to support core customer hours of 0900–1500, Monday through Friday.

Nice to have - STEM bachelor's degree and/or an advanced IA certification such as CISSP or CASP. - Background supporting Intelligence Community or DoD cybersecurity programs, including acquisition or project management responsibilities. - Prior roles as an ISSO, Information System Security Manager (ISSM), SCA, or Delegated Authorization Official (DAO) representative. - Experience with ServiceNow and Splunk, and familiarity with credentialing, reciprocity, and access-management processes. - Familiarity with the customer's training platform, a basic instructor certificate, and an understanding of cloud technologies and platforms.
