Role overview Join a marketplace-focused data science and machine learning team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, where you will build AI-powered solutions that connect consumers with service professionals. The work spans large-scale search ranking, recommendation, and matching problems, with a strong emphasis on deploying and operating production models at low latency.
Responsibilities - Design and develop advanced machine learning models that improve marketplace search ranking, recommendations, and matching to lift engagement, retention, and conversion. - Build and own end-to-end MLOps infrastructure, including self-hosted large language model serving, training automation, fine-tuning and post-training pipelines, and cost-optimized inference. - Establish rigorous offline and online evaluation frameworks, including A/B testing, guardrail metrics, and LLM-specific quality measures such as hallucination and task-accuracy scoring. - Partner with engineering, infrastructure, data science, and product teams to integrate ML solutions into production products and services. - Contribute to long-term technical roadmaps, prototype new features, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements - Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, or mathematics. - 4+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, ideally within tech or marketplace environments. - Hands-on experience post-training and self-hosting open-weight LLMs, including fine-tuning, quantization, and serving stacks such as vLLM or SGLang. - Deep understanding of evaluation strategies across classical ML and deep learning, with end-to-end fluency in the MLOps lifecycle including feature stores, CI/CD for ML, and monitoring. - Strong coding skills in SQL, Python, and modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, plus experience with distributed systems and information retrieval.
