About this role

Role overview Set the quality direction for a portfolio of research services that includes expert sourcing, interviews, and tools for turning conversations into usable insights. You will work across multiple engineering teams, taking responsibility for test strategy, coverage, and release confidence while helping teams build quality into delivery. The role combines hands-on automation with technical influence and coaching, including validation of AI-supported features.

Responsibilities - Define a long-term quality strategy centered on designing for quality and automating by default. - Identify and close coverage gaps across workflows such as scheduling, sourcing, compliance, transcript review, and user portals. - Build scalable end-to-end automation and decide how testing should be divided across unit, component, API, and end-to-end layers. - Partner with developers to plan tests alongside feature development and establish measurable quality indicators and release gates. - Evaluate AI-assisted interviews and call summaries, and help determine how to assess their outputs. - Apply AI tools to test design, maintenance, and triage, and coach engineers in earlier, quality-focused testing practices.

Requirements - Practical end-to-end automation experience with Cypress or Playwright, and willingness to work with both. - Strong programming ability in a language such as Ruby, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, or Java, with confidence navigating unfamiliar code. - Excellent test design skills, including API testing and a solid grasp of testing principles. - Experience with unit and component test frameworks and how test layers fit together. - Experience using AI tools to improve software delivery or testing, plus a strong understanding of continuous delivery and release gates. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test management, performance, and observability tools. - Ability to set direction independently, influence across teams, coach engineers, and communicate with technical and non-technical partners.

Nice to have Experience testing workflow-heavy web applications, compliance-sensitive products, or sensitive data; evaluating AI or language model outputs; familiarity with Ruby on Rails or Vue; or a relevant bachelor's or master's degree.

Benefits and work setup The source lists a base salary range of $148,350–$203,550 USD, with a possible performance bonus, equity, and benefits program. Final compensation may depend on experience and expertise.
