About this role
Role overview Build and operate geospatial software used in production, including interactive maps, spatial APIs, tile services, and the data workflows behind them. The work spans application development and cloud deployment, with an emphasis on practical, open geospatial tools.
Responsibilities - Develop interactive web maps using a modern mapping library. - Design and run spatial APIs and tile services, including vector tile and cloud-optimized raster workflows. - Model and query spatial data in PostGIS. - Create ETL pipelines for geospatial datasets. - Deploy and operate geospatial services on cloud platforms.
Requirements - Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills. - Experience with at least one modern web mapping library. - Working knowledge of SQL and PostGIS. - Comfort with Git and code review. - Sound, pragmatic API design judgment.
Nice to have - Experience with SvelteKit or a similar web framework. - Familiarity with serverless or edge platforms, such as Cloudflare Workers or Lambda. - Experience with GDAL and command-line geospatial tools. - Contributions to open-source projects.
