About this role
Role overview Build and operate backend APIs that let partners and merchants connect to financial products. You’ll take projects from task breakdown through phased delivery, working with product, design, analytics, and engineering peers while helping keep services reliable.
Responsibilities - Break larger initiatives into deliverable stages and coordinate work to meet delivery goals. - Contribute to product discovery by clarifying technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs with cross-functional partners. - Design, build, and launch backend systems and APIs used at scale. - Create and monitor service metrics, respond to operational issues, and participate in on-call support. - Review code, help teammates grow, and contribute to engineering interviews.
Requirements - At least 1.5 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience; a related bachelor’s degree is also accepted. - Proficiency in Python or Kotlin, with experience delivering backend systems and APIs. - Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. - Ability to turn a business problem into a solution spanning multiple components, with clear, tested, extensible code. - Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging existing software, and giving constructive code review feedback. - Strong written and verbal communication, and an active approach to seeking feedback and developing your skills.

The disclosed Canadian base salary range is $133,000–$183,000 per year.
