Senior Software Engineer

Role overview Own substantial parts of production software from early design through release and ongoing operation. The work spans back-end services and some front-end applications, with a strong focus on security, reliability, and helping other engineers grow. You will coordinate with product owners and clients to shape work and guide its delivery.

Responsibilities - Design features and services, documenting key decisions and architectural trade-offs. - Build and maintain production software across back-end systems and, where needed, user-facing applications. - Assess security threats during design and make secure choices throughout implementation. - Review code, establish shared engineering practices, and mentor less experienced developers. - Improve the performance, reliability, and observability of systems you own; participate in on-call and incident reviews. - Set up reviewed, tested practices for AI-assisted development and work with stakeholders to clarify scope and delivery plans.

Requirements - Around 5–6 years of software engineering experience, including responsibility for production systems. - Strong TypeScript with Node.js or Python skills, and working knowledge of the other. - Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models, and explaining design trade-offs. - Practical experience with a major cloud provider, containers, and infrastructure as code. - Knowledge of application security, including common web risks, authentication, authorization, and secrets management. - A record of writing tested code, improving delivery pipelines, mentoring engineers, and leading technical discussions with non-technical stakeholders.
