Role overview
The position sits on a Trust & Safety Experience team that owns customer journeys across authentication, verification, and fraud flows. It functions as a full stack engineering role contributing to backend services as well as web and mobile interfaces. The mission centers on building and operating high-availability, low-latency systems that consumers use every day to safely access their accounts.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals, guiding engineers through ambiguous problems and supporting the team end to end during execution. - Partner with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to ideation, articulating technical constraints, and weighing risks and trade-offs. - Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead the resolution. - Support the operational health of team-owned artifacts by defining and monitoring metrics, escalating as needed, and participating in on-call and "keep the lights on" efforts. - Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards and advocating for them through writing and technical talks. - Develop talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue. - Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. - Experience defining a technical plan for a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design, producing high quality code that is easy for others to understand and use. - Demonstrated ability to make meaningful changes in a large codebase, supported by a personal toolkit and practices that enable safe collaboration. - A track record of taking ownership of professional growth by proactively seeking feedback from managers, peers, and stakeholders. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across a global engineering team. - Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
