About this role
Role overview Build security products that use AI to address evolving, highly tailored attacks. As a Staff or Senior Staff engineer, you’ll take on challenging technical problems, ship product code, and shape engineering direction; leadership scope can expand as you demonstrate impact. The role combines hands-on development with raising the effectiveness of the engineers around you.
Responsibilities - Design and deliver product capabilities from early implementation through production use. - Set technical direction by making and documenting sound engineering decisions. - Improve system quality, reliability, and scalability as products and usage grow. - Work with customers and internal partners to understand needs, test assumptions, and guide product choices. - Help other engineers grow through technical collaboration and clear feedback. - Take ownership of outcomes and contribute directly to implementation rather than relying on title or delegated authority.
Requirements - Extensive software engineering experience and the ability to independently solve complex technical problems. - Strong hands-on coding skills and judgment about maintainable, production-ready systems. - Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly in writing and in discussion. - Comfort working with customers, challenging assumptions, and learning quickly in a changing environment. - Readiness to take responsibility for both technical outcomes and team effectiveness.
Nice to have - Experience building AI or machine learning products and working with datasets for those systems. - Background in enterprise security products or integrations. - Experience taking an early product from limited use to broad production adoption. - Experience building or leading engineering teams in an early-stage company.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time, with on-site options in New York City or San Francisco, or remote work from within the United States. - High autonomy and responsibility, with an opportunity for the role’s leadership scope to grow through demonstrated results.
