About this role
Role overview
Lead the data function and make company data dependable for business decisions, customer-facing products, and AI systems. You’ll manage an existing team while staying close to the technical work, setting standards for the data platform, a unified client record, governed metrics, and data used to build and evaluate machine learning products.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- At least 8 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platforms, including leadership of a data function and direct management of senior engineers. - Hands-on experience building or rebuilding a cloud data stack, with advanced SQL and practical knowledge of warehouse design, modeling, transformation, orchestration, and observability. - Experience supporting production ML or LLM systems with versioned training, evaluation, and retrieval data, embeddings or vector search, and quality monitoring. - Experience building customer identity or master data systems across multiple sources, including matching rules and field-level provenance. - Experience delivering governed metrics for executive and finance use, with reconciliation, quality standards, and remediation ownership. - Knowledge of privacy and governance controls such as retention, deletion, lineage, and role-based access; familiarity with CCPA and CPRA.
Nice to have
- Experience as the first or primary data leader, or working with financial transactions or multi-entity data.
Benefits and work setup
- Full-time, remote within the United States, with standard Pacific Time weekday hours and occasional travel to Las Vegas. Flexibility is expected for security incidents and critical needs. - Base salary listed as $250,000–$275,000, with a performance bonus of up to 15%. - Benefits include flexible paid time off, medical, dental and vision coverage, employer HSA contributions, FSA options, mental health resources, a 401(k) match, and an annual wellness reimbursement.
