Data Engineer

Role overview Own the cloud and delivery infrastructure behind analytics and AI products, helping evolve an early data platform into a reliable, automated and well-governed system. This is a hands-on engineering role: you’ll build infrastructure, improve deployment and monitoring, manage access, and take responsibility for the systems throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Map existing infrastructure and develop reusable infrastructure-as-code modules using Terraform or OpenTofu. - Build and maintain cloud services supporting data products, including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and Cloud Storage. - Manage permissions and secure access for team members and automated agents. - Improve CI/CD workflows, alerting and operational measures so platform issues are visible and reliability can be assessed. - Automate platform processes, including client onboarding and areas that still rely on manual work. - Deliver infrastructure improvements from design through implementation and ongoing operation.

Requirements - Practical experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code. - Ability to take ownership of deployment pipelines, monitoring and the operational lifecycle of production systems. - Comfort designing and improving an early-stage platform, where processes and architecture still need to be established. - Interest in using AI as a practical tool in engineering work. - Based in the United States and able to work continental US hours.

Benefits and work setup - Remote-first role, with an office option in Philadelphia. - Annual salary range of $120,000–$140,000, with compensation based on skills and experience and at least yearly compensation reviews.
