Role overview This position manages release and configuration operations for a large US federal government program. The work centers on ITIL-aligned change control, scheduled release windows, and emergency deployments that keep mission-critical systems stable and secure. It is a hands-on technical role embedded in a delivery team serving federal defense, national security, or public-sector clients.

Responsibilities - Manage configuration and change control in line with an established configuration management plan and formal Change Control Board (CCB) procedures - Oversee scheduled release windows, the outage calendar, and emergency release handling, including vendor-controlled quarterly updates - Plan and coordinate deployments and rollback strategies, supporting CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure DevOps - Administer source-control and code-review tooling such as Subversion, GitLab, and Fisheye across development and production environments - Partner with engineering and program management to coordinate vendor patch cycles alongside program-managed release windows - Maintain accurate release records, change documentation, and audit-ready artifacts for federal compliance reviews

Nice to have - Prior experience working on US federal government programs, ideally with defense, national security, public safety, civilian, or military health clients - Familiarity with ITIL-based release and configuration management practices

Requirements - Hands-on GitLab experience in an enterprise environment - Practical Configuration Management (CM) experience governing production systems - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Professional credential or equivalent capability - US citizenship, which is required for this federal engagement
