Role overview A Product Owner role focused on driving the vision, development, and delivery of a new go-to-market product: a robust, scalable data curation pipeline that will serve as the backbone for training computer vision models. The position sits at the intersection of engineering, data science, business development, customer success, and federal government stakeholders, requiring someone who can translate mission-critical needs into a prioritized, executable product roadmap.
Responsibilities - Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a data curation pipeline tailored to computer vision model training. - Stay current on trends in data curation, computer vision, and machine learning to inform product strategy. - Act as the primary liaison between customers, internal teams, and federal stakeholders, gathering requirements and translating them into actionable features. - Partner with business development and sales teams to understand customer pain points and competitive positioning. - Collaborate with Department of Defense research labs, program offices, and other federal organizations to ensure the product meets mission-critical requirements. - Own and prioritize the product backlog, partnering with engineering and data science to design scalable, efficient, user-friendly pipelines. - Define and track key product metrics to ensure measurable customer value, and drive continuous improvement through user feedback. - Work with marketing and sales on go-to-market strategy, messaging, positioning, and collateral. - Apply knowledge of federal contracting mechanisms such as OTAs, SBIR/STTR programs, and IDIQ contracts, partnering with legal, procurement, and compliance teams.
Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, preferably in AI, machine learning, or data-centric products. - Strong understanding of computer vision concepts, machine learning workflows, and data curation processes. - Demonstrated experience developing and launching go-to-market products and driving success in competitive markets. - Hands-on experience working with data pipelines and metadata management. - Familiarity with Department of Defense contracting mechanisms, compliance requirements, and procurement processes. - Eligibility to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
