Oracle EBS Sub-Ledger Accounting (SLA) SME

Role overview

A mid-to-senior Sub-Ledger Accounting specialist is needed to support and modernize the Oracle E-Business Suite financial systems of a large U.S. federal government engagement. The role owns SLA configuration, refreshes functional documentation, and applies automation and AI/ML techniques to improve speed, accuracy, and audit readiness. It suits a collaborative finance-systems professional who can partner with Finance, IT, and program teams in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Oracle EBS Sub-Ledger Accounting rules, accounting methods, and related functional components - Update functional design artifacts, configuration guides, and operational runbooks for the SLA module - Identify and deliver automation opportunities, including AI/ML-driven enhancements, that reduce manual effort and strengthen exception handling - Diagnose and resolve SLA issues in partnership with Finance, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders working in Agile teams - Ensure sub-ledger processes remain compliant with financial policies, internal controls, and audit requirements - Drive continuous improvements that raise the reliability and efficiency of accounting close activities

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree - Three or more years of hands-on Oracle EBS Financials experience, including direct Sub-Ledger Accounting configuration - Solid understanding of accounting flows, financial controls, and sub-ledger-to-general-ledger reconciliation - Experience writing functional documentation, troubleshooting issues, and supporting Agile delivery teams - Exposure to AI or automation tools applied to financial or accounting workflows - U.S. citizenship, as required to support a federal client engagement
