Network Management Tools Engineer

Role overview A network engineering role focused on managing and supporting the management tools that monitor enterprise network infrastructure for a federal sector environment. The position blends system administration of Linux-based appliances with networking expertise across routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless platforms. It is a good fit for an engineer who enjoys maintaining complex tooling, patching systems, and partnering with stakeholders on operational improvements.

Responsibilities - Meet with IT stakeholders to review reports from network management tools, map scope, and create or update design and architecture documentation. - Work support tickets and implement changes through the change request process. - Escalate issues and concerns to management when needed. - Provide network engineer and administration support to configure and test solutions. - Perform system maintenance, OS patching, and application releases on Linux appliance network tools. - Verify standards and requirements by running quality assurance tests. - Develop and transition operational processes and procedures for operations teams to support the solution.

Requirements - U.S. citizenship and residence in the U.S. - Three years of expert-level experience with LAN technologies, including switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls, with centralized monitoring and management in large-scale, high-availability environments. - Two years of experience in IT infrastructure, TCP/IP, networking, and information system security principles and technologies. - Three years of experience working with core Internet routing protocols and services. - One to two years of experience with Juniper SRX firewalls. - Two years of experience with Cisco FTD or Firepower. - Two years of experience with Palo Alto virtual firewall and Panorama central management solutions. - At least one year of Linux experience. - Familiarity with Firemon, Algosec, or Tufin; with Gluware, SolarWinds, or Ansible; and with Regex.
