Deputy Program Manager

Role overview A federal-sector technology program is hiring a deputy program manager to oversee planning, execution, and delivery of enhancements, operations, and modernization efforts across mission-focused client environments. The role blends hands-on technical program management with stakeholder coordination to keep production systems reliable, secure, and scalable while meeting compliance and operational standards. It suits a technically grounded leader who can bridge engineering, operations, and government partners across a multi-workstream initiative.

Responsibilities - Drive end-to-end program management covering strategic planning, scope, risk, scheduling, and executive reporting. - Coordinate technical workstreams spanning database administration, system engineering, cloud operations, and application support. - Serve as the integration point for cross-functional efforts tied to system performance, data integrity, modernization, and production stability. - Oversee environment management, release planning, configuration management, and operational readiness reviews. - Ensure compliance with security, data retention, change management, and audit requirements. - Partner with business owners, contractors, and government stakeholders to keep communication and delivery aligned. - Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement across technical domains. - Provide leadership in architecture discussions covering both on-premise and cloud components.

Requirements - U.S. citizenship. - Hands-on experience administering Oracle OLTP databases, including performance tuning, schema management, data migration, backup/restore, and PL/SQL scripting. - Practical system administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, covering patching, file systems, security hardening, and troubleshooting. - Ability to configure, optimize, secure, and maintain Apache HTTP Server deployments for enterprise applications. - Proficiency with AWS services and strong experience with Elastic Load Balancers (ALB/NLB) for traffic routing, scaling, and availability. - Experience designing or operating high-availability architectures.

Nice to have - Prior experience supporting or managing federal systems. - Familiarity with UKG GovTA software. - Strong understanding of enterprise change control and ITIL processes. - Track record managing multi-vendor and cross-organizational technical teams. - Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
